Al Matthews

Al Matthews was born on Nov 21, 1942 in USA. Al Matthews's big-screen debut came with Yanks directed by John Schlesinger in 1979, strarring Black G.I. at Dance. Al Matthews is known for The Fifth Element directed by Luc Besson, Bruce Willis stars as Korben Dallas and Gary Oldman as Zorg. The upcoming new movie Al Matthews plays is Aliens: Colonial Marines which will be released on Feb 12, 2013.

Folk singer and musical performer who worked professionally while living in England. He later turned to acting, but continues to write and sing. Matthews is noted for having made two significant historical firsts. While on combat duty during the Vietnam War, Matthews became the first black Marine to be meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Williams was also the first "black voice" on England's national station, 'Radio 1.'
