Adam Schlachter graduated with an M.F.A. in Film Directing from the American Film Institute, completed a Professional Advanced Certificate in Screenwriting from the University of California, Los Angeles, and earned a B.F.A. in Film Production from Florida State University. He directed two films that qualified for the Academy Awards: "And The Brave Shall Rise", a documentary short, and "My Backyard Was A Mountain", a live action short. He was accepted into the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Film Program Cannes, sponsored by their legendary film festivals. Adam was also selected for the CBS Directing Initiative, the NBC-Universal Showcase, the Writers Guild of America, the HSF McNamara Arts Grant, the Caucus Foundation Grant, and the MMPA Diversity Grant. The recipient of an Imagen Award and featured in Esquire Magazine, he has received accolades from Kodak and Panavision and has won over thirty film festival prizes. His debut feature, "The 7", premiered on the NBC-Universal cable network, ChillerTV, and is available on Amazon Prime. Adam's second feature, "Hollywood W", was shot in over fifty locations and events in Los Angeles with a multicultural cast of thirty. His third feature, "Hair In A Bag", a documentary, was just completed for the film festival circuit. Every film he has directed has featured at least one Latinx actor in a lead or supporting role. With a unique vision for compelling stories and a keen eye for emerging talent, Adam personally chose several award-winning actors for roles in his films when they were just starting out, including Jesse Garcia, Emily Rios, Walter Perez, Sandra Echeverria, Kelly Blatz, Alison McInnis, and Adrienne Rose White. He created "We Are All Latino" to spotlight Latinx directors. Other films include "The Perfect Shot", "a woman IN LOVE", "The Stain On The Sidewalk", and "Father Figure". His films have screened at over two hundred international film festivals.
